We want to provide you with an update following recent news about the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) relocating its headquarters from the Weaver Building in Washington, D.C.
As you may have heard, the current HUD Secretary has announced plans for HUD to move into the National Science Foundation (NSF) building in Alexandria, Virginia—a move that could take at least two years to complete. This relocation is expected to take place in several stages, beginning with the current NSF staff vacating that building and continuing through a multi-phase process involving construction and logistics planning.
We have reached out to the HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary to learn more and to ensure HUD Federal Credit Union is part of the planning conversation.
While the future of the HUD headquarters location is still unfolding, our commitment to you remains unchanged. Whether we remain in the Weaver Building, move with HUD, or relocate to another nearby site, we will continue to serve you—without interruption. We understand that many of our members, particularly long-time and retired members, value the ability to visit us in person.
